Oliver Ivison

Oli graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MSci degree in Biochemistry in 2018. For his
Master&#39s project, Oli investigated the roles of two proteins involved in mupirocin synthesis.
This contributed to an overarching project to reengineer the mupirocin synthesis pathway allowing the
generation of novel mupirocin derivatives which could be screened for therapeutic improvements to combat
antibiotic resistance. He went on to work in the microbiology quality control lab for a GSK manufacturing
site until joining Micropathology in July 2022.
