Dr Luke Cadd graduated from the University of Bristol with a MSci in Zoology before completing a PhD in Molecular Parasitology at Queen’s University Belfast. His doctoral research focused on the endocannabinoid system in the parasitic nematode Strongyloides, utilising genomics, transcriptomics, molecular and functional genomics to uncover the role and function of the endocannabinoid system in parasitic nematode biology.
Before joining Micropathology in August 2025, Luke worked as a Research Technician within the NHS where he investigated antimicrobial resistance in ESKAPE pathogens and enteric bacteria, and developed high-throughput methods for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of anaerobic pathogens.
